This was a perfect one night stop over on our way home from our travels. We loved the large basement area and the comfort of all spaces was exceptional!
Twin Falls: The "Stop-Over" That Stole Our Hearts
Back in June 2020, after weeks of zig-zagging through the rugged wilds of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, we needed a place to crash on the final leg of our journey home. We pulled into Twin Falls not knowing exactly what to expect. What we found was a town so charming and beautiful that we immediately regretted not booking a longer stay.
The Hidden Suite: Entry via "Secret" Garage Entry
Our home base was a vacation rental tucked away on a quiet, leafy residential street. The unit is a basement apartment in a lovely older home, accessed through the garage via a keyless entry.
The Parking Perk: We were able to park right in the driveway which for us was basically a five-star amenity.
The "Not-So-Basement" Basement
Usually, “basement unit” is code for “watch your head and enjoy the dampness,” but this place was the total opposite. Our host, Ashley, was incredibly proactive, sending us all the vital stats before we even crossed the state line.
- The Living Room: It was massive. We’re talking a sectional sofa large enough to host a small summit and a TV for those “we’re too tired to move” movie nights. There’s even a fireplace for those crisp Idaho evenings.
- The Bathroom: Oversized and spotless, with the added bonus of grab rails in the shower—perfect for when your legs are still vibrating from eight hours of driving.
The Holy Grail of Road Trips: Laundry!
The kitchen was wonderfully large and inviting, but the real MVP of the stay was the washer and dryer tucked right inside. Ashley even provided complimentary soap and dryer sheets. After weeks on the road, seeing a clean washing machine is like finding an oasis in the desert. Hopefully, no one saw my happy dance as I loaded the washing machine!
Also, a shout-out to the drip coffee maker. Because while fancy pods are fine, sometimes you just need a giant pot of “get me back on the road” fuel.
Resting Up for the Home Stretch
The bedroom featured two Queen-sized beds that were dangerously comfortable. Everything was spotless and “wonderfully cozy”—the kind of place where you stop hearing the road noise and finally start hearing yourself breathe again.
Twin Falls: More Than Just a Pit Stop
Even though we were on a schedule, we couldn’t leave without visiting Shoshone Falls. Known as the “Niagara of the West,” this Snake River landmark is an absolute showstopper. If you have more than a night, the area is bursting with:
- The Orton Botanical Gardens (for your plant fix).
- Hiking Trails with killer canyon views.
- Local Golf Courses and enough restaurants to keep your taste buds busy for a week.
I Really Loved…
This rental was the perfect, centrally located sanctuary with all the comforts of home. It was the best environment to kick back and rest up for the rest of the trip home and had all those thoughtful touches that turn a “rental” into a “home.” We’ll definitely be keeping Ashley’s place on our short list for the next time we pass through Southern Idaho.
