This little house in Payson, near Green Valley Park is so secluded and private, I never knew it was here in the nearly 30 years of living in Payson.
Our Cozy Payson Hideaway: A 30-Year Local's Best-Kept Secret!
Although I’ve lived in Payson for nearly 30 years, I have to admit, I had no idea this little slice of heaven even existed! Tucked away and secluded behind a house on the main road, this rental is the cutest little hideaway.
I stayed here in September 2025, and it truly felt like the perfect little escape for a couple.
Location! Perfect For Solitude and Tranquility
The best part? The location! Despite being just moments from everything, the house feels delightfully private. It’s so close to Green Valley Park (hello, easy access to the famous July 4th fireworks and all the park activities!) but still manages to offer complete seclusion.
- Easy Access: Parking was right in front, and check-in was a breeze with the lockbox.
- Heart of Payson: You’re close to a public golf course, Main Street, fantastic restaurants, the movie theater, small specialty shops, the rodeo grounds, and amazing hiking trails.
Small Space, Big Comfort (But Maybe Not for Six!)
While the listing mentions it can accommodate up to six guests (using the sofa and an air mattress), honestly, it shines brightest as a retreat for a couple or a couple with two kids. Packing in six would be a bit cozy for my taste!
Inside, the house is small but mighty:
- The main bedroom features a comfortable king-sized bed.
- A queen-sized bed is conveniently tucked into the living room space.
- The beds were comfortable, and I loved having access to extra pillows, blankets, and towels. (Just note: there’s no washer or dryer available).
Everything You Need, Inside and Out
I was so impressed with how well-stocked this little house was!
- The Kitchen Nook: While small, it had all the necessary appliances, including a Keurig coffee maker—essential for those quiet mornings!
- Spa-Ready Bathroom: The bathroom is a good size, and they thoughtfully provided basics like shampoo, conditioner, and soap.
- Climate Control: For those warm Arizona summers, the AC is a lifesaver! I appreciated the heat and ceiling fans, and this time of year, I just opened the windows for the cool nighttime air.
A Happy Place for Furry Friends!
Pet lovers, rejoice! Pets are welcome here!
They even provide little touches like dog bowls, blankets, and toys. Just be aware, if your dog loves to roam, there is no fenced yard.
If your pup(s) are like mine, they love to investigate new places and meet new people. The proximity to the park is a fantastic bonus for all of us!
I Really Loved...
This vacation rental was so cute and cozy and felt private and secluded. I was able to relax and enjoy my time without the hustle of a busy road or downtown clamor. With the property adjacent to Payson’s best park, its my opinion that it is second to none.
Everything about the stay was great—the house was spotlessly clean (dishes, towels, bedding, everything!), and the little outdoor area with the chairs, tables, and BBQ grill was a nice bonus
The only small hiccup was that when I reached out to the host, Cynthia, after check-in, I didn’t receive a response during my stay. I even contacted her subsequent to my stay and didn’t hear back but it did not impact my visit so I had no need to consider it a problem.
